PROTEIN SYNTHESIS

Amino acids are needed to build proteins. It is those that are used in the building of new proteins. All this is determined along a string of codons along the DNA molecule. A sequence of events takes place starting at the RNA in the nucleus. The RNA leaves the nucleus and carries a message that new proteins must be made. This message is delivered to the ribosomes, which are tiny structures in the cytoplasm. The ribosomes read the instructions and immediately make new proteins. These are assembled by the amino acids which are present in the cell cytoplasm. The new protein normally coils up to maintain stability to the molecule.
